8th Graders...BAHS Course Sign-up Dates
It is that time of year...8th graders need to start looking ahead to grade 9 at BAHS.
Dates you need to put on your calendar:
Wednesday, February 1st will be the parent information night at BAHS 6:00 pm in the band room.
Tuesday, February 7th all grade 8 students will listen to an explanation of course sign-up options and procedures from BAHS guidance staff at 12:00 in the THMS cafeteria. Students will begin to complete the paperwork and get signatures from teachers and the finally the parent.
Monday, February 13th all grade 8 students will electronically enter their parent approved schedule during morning advisory. Please note that parents MUST have signed the paper schedule indicating approval.
Wednesday, February 15th is the final date for course sign-ups.
SEBR Time
Teacher's are working on updating Student Effort & Behavior Report scores for the 2nd Trimester mid-term progress report. These should arrive in mailboxes soon.
The rubric used for SEBR scores (1-3) and an explanation of Report Card Scoring (1-4) can be found by clicking "Standards Grading" to the left under "School Links."
Our Academy Mission:
In the Academy of Innovation students and teachers will collaborate to ensure all students meet standards through the process of questioning and creative problem solving, as well as exploring the historical significance of others who have questioned.     Â
- Students will have a voice and choice in how they discover and demonstrate what they know and can do.
- Teachers will present students with the framework of required learning standards.
- Students will examine those individuals in history whose creative and innovative thinking changed our world.
- Students will identify current challenges and offer original solutions by: Â Â Â Â Â
        -Gathering, analyzing, and evaluating information.
        -Applying knowledge.
        -Making decisions.
        -Creating various products and models.
Mr. LaValle has created an account with ALL of the hundreds of photos of our grade 8 students at the Kieve Leadership School. Â Â Families are able to view photos, select those they would like copies of and order from Shutterfly in a variety of ways for a very reasonable cost.
