Week of 4/2: Kieve Leadership Camp; 7th graders will be conducting challenges and participating in service learning projects throughout the week

Week of 4/9: Start Learning Set 3 by taking a closer look at Thermal Energy; Factors that affect the amount of thermal energy

Week of 4/23: Army National Guard workshops; MEA preparation, Rube Goldberg children's stories and UMaine Engineering Fair.

Week of 4/30: Finish Thermal Energy unit; Uncover the mystery of the Imploding Can; Assessment at the end of the week.

Week of 5/7: Prepare for MEA assessments; MEAs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; Introduce Chemical Energy.

Week of 5/14: Finishing our Rube Goldberg Children's Stories; Introducing Types of Matter and Properties of Matter; Discussing Indicators of Chemical Reactions; Building an Atom

Targets for 3rd Trimester
D3h - Student describes several different types of energy forms including heat, chemical, and mechanical. D3i - Student uses examples of energy transformations from one form to another to explain that energy cannot be created or destroyed. D3j - Student describes how heat is transferred from one object to another by conduction, convection, and/or radiation. D3k - Student describes the properties of solar radiation and its interaction with objects on Earth.
