Class Policies and Procedures
                                Procedures:

  • Entering the Room: Bring the needed supplies. Upon entering the room go to your assigned seat, and immediately begin the assignment on the overhead.
  • Leaving the Room: The teacher will dismiss you at the end of class. The bell is not a signal to leave. You are expected to work until the bell rings; do not pick up early. If you are dismissed early for a sporting event, the intercom announcement does not give you permission to leave. I’ll dismiss you once the announcement has been made.
  • Bathroom and Drinks During Class: Emergency trips to the bathroom will be allowed. Pay careful attention to the word emergency, this does not mean a daily trip during class. If you need a drink, stop at the water fountain on your way to class.
  • Borrowed Supplies: Any supplies borrowed are to be returned to the appropriate place. If you are not sure, ask.
  • Materials Needed for Class: Each day the following materials are needed for class: planner, three ring binders, colored pencils, and a pencil.
  • Late Work and Make Up Work :If you arrive to class without completed work, start working right way until the work is completed. There generally is not time during class to hand in late work. Any work not handed in on time I will schedule an appointment for you to see me after school to finish it. Please make arrangements to go home. If you are absent you will have one day to make it up. It is your responsibility to see me. You may make arrangements to see me after school or before school.
  • Redoing Work: Any work may be redone in case it does not demonstrate proficient achievement of the target. A time limit will be allowed for redoing work.
  • Leaving the Classroom: Any time you leave the classroom you must have the teacher permission.
  • Silent times: We have plenty of oral drills, dialog, and group activities for you to communicate in English and Spanish, however, during instruction  time no talking is allowed. You must be silent so the announcement may be easily heard. Other silent times are during fire drills.
  • Finished Early: In order for the room to remain quiet for those who are still working, you should quietly work on other work. This can be a great time to get your late assignment done or work on revisions.
  • Passing in Work: Always hand in your work directly to me. Never leave work on my desk – it will get lost!
Thanks and have a great year!
